Hello River Family!

Please take a moment to read about the upcoming 2013 events and how you can help/find out more information:

  1. We will be looking for a Chairperson for each event. Some people have already volunteered (thankyouverymuch) and we still have some open events. As the Chairperson you will work with the Ways & Means (hey, that’s me) and together we will go through the event and determine what you need. From there you will seek out volunteers (we can help too) and respectively manage the event. Don’t worry, you aren’t on your own. This method will collectively assist all of us so we don’t get exhausted by June 30th. Also, if you didn’t know … I own an event/wedding planning business. Guess when those events happen? On weekends. So, if we do not get volunteers to Chair an event, then it will be cancelled.  Yeah, we hope that doesn’t happen to often, but unfortunately work comes before play.
  2. Upcoming events will be updated on this website and our Facebook page. BOOKMARK/SAVE this website or FB fanpage and tell your friends about the upcoming events.
  3. Some events will have TBD (to be determined) before the name. This means we reserve the right to make some changes as to when the event will finally be scheduled. ALWAYS check back with either calendar to be sure of dates and times of the event.
  4. Events will still be posted on the outside board in front of the shelter. But let’s face it, that really only helps people who come to the FIMBC every week and gives you no time to plan in advance.
  5. We have some new events this year! For instance, you’ll want to take a look at the FIMBC Smoke Off Fundraiser and Texas Hold’em Tournament on June 8th. If you can BBQ and want to enter, we’ll have some information for you soon!
  6. We’ve discontinued some events/fundraisers this year. Booze Cooler fundraiser and the Blessing of the Fleet have been eliminated from the calendar. However, if you have a great idea for another event, please let us know!
